University of Tokyo, Keio University, and University of Oulu will arrange 9-10 August 2012 the 4th Asian-European Workshop on Ubiquitous Computing. The workshop will be arranged at Tokyo, Japan. The earlier workshops were organized at Oulu, Finland in 2008, in Shuzenji, Japan in 2009, and in Helsinki, Finland in 2010. In addition to members of these three universities, the participants are invited guests from other European and Japanese universities and research institutes.
The goal of the workshop is to continue establishing the Asia-Europe network of ubiquitous computing professionals; to familiarize the participants with each others research, to advance collaboration, and share thoughts about topical issues in ubiquitous computing. The participants will present their recent research and future plans on following topics:
The workshop will contain talks and a panel on the first day, and talks and a poster session on the second day. Research group leaders and senior researchers present their recent work and future plans in the talks; 15-30 minutes will be reserved for each talk (depending on the number of participants). Each presentation session will feature a short topical panel. Young students presents their work in the poster session.
In addition, the workshop offers a good environment for networking during the coffee breaks, lunch breaks, and dinner; and during the visits before the workshop. We expect 30-50 participants.
